Mixed media work with Cochineal and porcupine quills on maple wood
Collaborative artwork between the Mexican artist Fabiola Martínez and the Mi’kmaq artist Tara Francis working together using porcupine quills, cochineal on wood and on tree bark allowed the two artists to explore the connection of their heritage. "Scarlet Thorns & Metamorphosis” is an interpretation of transformation, spirituality, and preservation of ancestral techniques.
