Drawing Movement & Form ADULTS

Day 1: Fundamentals of form and gesture drawing. 

This class will focus on reducing form into basic shapes identifying negative space, and using them to better create a sense of structure. The gesture aspect will focus keenly on the core elements of a figure to capture a story of movement.

The class will start with a brief analysis of breaking down a figure into geometric blocking shapes and eventually on lines. The model will gradually go quicker and quicker movements to force a rapid capture of linework to convey form and movement.

Day 2: Building on figure and form

This will focus on creating realistic form and adding depth and mass to a shape and will help with blocking in human figures. The live model will be posing for longer stretches of time to allow for more study in perspective and shape. More emphasis will be on shadow and negative space identification.
